2008/09 Schedule
PEE WEE BASKETBALL IS GREAT
The 2008/09 basketball season has completed another wonderful year at Tusculum Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It kicked off with practice beginning the First week of November and the first regular season game on the second Saturday of December. On the first Saturday pf December we had a Jamboree for the teams, where each team played two quarters against two other teams. A donation was taken at the door to help pay for some of the boys and girls who were unable to play.
This year we had nine teams in our league made up of about 100 boys and girls in Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. Many of the players as well as many of the coaches are returnees from previous seasons. All teams have eight or more players on each team. Practices are held one night a week for each team with all games played on Saturday from 9:30 until 3:30 in the afternoon.
The games were played on the first three Saturdays of December and then during January and February, with a tournament scheduled for the last week in February, which was won by the Bearcats, who defeated the Tigers in the championship game. The Men's Fellowship sponsor the tournament and Pee Wee Recognition Sunday on the last Sunday of February. At this time each participant will receive a medallion and the Men's Fellowship will feed all the teams, coaches, and parents.
If you ever have a free moment on Saturday and want to laugh a little, drop by the gym and watch our children. Also, if you could help in the concession stand, or clean up after the games, we sure could use your help.
Play will resume the first week of November to being the 2009-10 season. We have 8 of the 9 coaches along with some others who desire to coach returning. If you are interested or would be interested in helping in a coaching or helper position, please contact the church.
